Our Mission

Handmade Goat Soap with Heart – Supporting Endangered Animals & Empowering Kids!

At All Saints Boonah OSHC, our amazing children have launched a special project that’s making a difference – and they’re leading it all themselves!

We’re proud to offer handmade goat soap, created right here by the children, with love and care. Every bar sold helps raise money for animals they’ve chosen to support through the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). So far, they’ve proudly sponsored a platypus, koala, and penguin – and they’re just getting started!

But it doesn’t stop there! The kids have also created a wish list of items they’d love to buy for the service using extra profits – with Mobilo construction sets right at the top. This project has ignited their creativity, compassion, and leadership. They’re excited, driven, and completely AWESOME!

This meaningful initiative links beautifully to the My Time, Our Place (MTOP) learning outcomes:

Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity – they’re taking responsibility, making decisions, and feeling proud of their achievements.
Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world – they’re taking real action to help endangered animals and their community.
Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing – through teamwork, confidence-building, and the therapeutic process of soap-making.
Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners – they’ve researched, planned, and reflected throughout the project.
Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators – discussing ideas, promoting their soap, and sharing their passion with others.

This project will also form part of our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) under Quality Areas 1 (Educational Program and Practice), 5 (Relationships with Children), and 6 (Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities). It shows how child voice, community involvement, and sustainability can be embedded meaningfully into our everyday practices.

We're confident this initiative will support our journey toward achieving an Exceeding rating by demonstrating:

Embedded practice: Sustainability and child agency are part of our ongoing routines and decision-making.
Informed by critical reflection: The project is shaped by conversations, feedback, and reflection from both children and educators.
Shaped by meaningful engagement with families and the community: Through purchases, conversations, and shared goals.
